Tata Tiago NRG

Summary

The Tata Tiago NRG has made a comeback once again and this time around it is based on the top-spec XZ+ variant of the BS6 Tiago. Aimed to entice the young buyers, the Tiago is priced around Rs 25,000 more than the regular version and packs in visual changes and feature additions.

Exterior

Visually, the Tiago NRG gets thick plastic cladding around the wheel arches, front and rear silver skid plates, and a contrast black insert on the roof, ORVMs, door handles, D-pillar, and the roof rails. The posterior is also garnished with a horizontal black trim on the boot to give it a more rugged and sporty appeal. The NRG rides on 15-inch hyperstyle wheels and has a ground clearance of 181mm.

Interior

Inside, the cabin gets gloss black inserts, push start/stop button, fabric seats, keyless boot opening, a rear view camera, auto-folding ORVMs, and a touchscreen infotainment system from Harman with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Surprisingly, the automatic climate control has been swapped for manual controls.

Engine and Transmission

Under the hood, the Tiago NRG is powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that does duty on the regular Tiago. It is tuned to produce 84bhp and 113Nm of torque. The transmission options include a five-speed manual and an AMT unit.
